A grooving sinuous backbeat of soul funk and rhythm and blues on the debut EP, Gotta Gimme Some, from The Ruby Rogers Experience will grab you from the start and not let up for the duration of this all too short EP.
With a powerhouse vocal delivery from Melinda Traves who leads this seasoned quintet of Melbourne based musicians, the debut 4 Track EP (expertly produced by Pughouse studio musician owner Niko Schauble) offers all original compositions from the pen of Melinda and bassist Avi Ganesan (the title track) while the other 3 tunes add the co-composing duties of keyboardist Adam Rudegair. An EP launch a few weeks back proved to the sell-out crowd more than adequately that The Ruby Rogers Experience have got “it” in spades…and no doubt will prove how much more they have in the tank when the follow up EP or CD is released down the track.
